*** According to the information of Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) and Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC) of Bangladesh Water Development Board (BWDB) there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall in the northern, northeastern and adjacent upstream areas of the country in the next 48 hours. During this time, the water levels of Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers in the northern region may increase and cross the danger level at some points, causing short-term flooding in the respective low-lying areas. Besides, in the next 5 days, water level of Jamuna river may exceed the danger level at some points. This may result in inundation of low-lying areas adjacent to the river of Jamalpur, Gaibandha, Bogra, Sirajganj and Tangail districts. In such circumstances, ***Harvest mature vegetables quickly before flooding occurs. ***Keep the drains clean so that water does not accumulate in the paddy field. ***Arrange for elevated bunding the land.  *** Make arrangements to remove excess water from cropland.  *** Avoid irrigation, fertilizers and pesticides. ***Arrange poles for bananas and other horticultural crops and vegetables. ***Keep livestock and poultry on high ground. ***Elevate arround the pond. If possible, surround it with netting or bamboo mats to prevent the fish from being swept away by the flood water.***
