• Avoid irrigation, fertilizer and pesticide application.
• Harvest mature crops quickly and store in a dry and safe place.
• Boro rice may be infested by blast disease. Tricyclazole group fungicides like Trooper (50 gm of fungicide mixed well in 64 liters of water per 1 bigha land) or ezoxystrobin group fungicides like Nativo (40 gm fungicide mixed well in 64 liters of water per 1 bigha land) should be sprayed twice at an interval of 7-10 days.
• Bacterial Leaf Blight may occur in Boro rice. To protect the crop from this disease, 5 kg of potash fertilizer and 3.5 kg of gypsum per bigha should be applied after the rains stop. However, if the paddy plant has passed the panicle initiation stage, 60 grams of potash fertilizer, 60 grams of thiovit and 20 grams of zinc should be mixed well in 10 liters of water and sprayed on 5 percent of the land. Stop application of urea fertilizer after stormy rains.
• Keep drains clear so that water does not accumulate on the ground.
• Arrange for elevated bunding around and inside the boro paddy.
• Provide mechanical support to the standing banana, sugarcane and other horticultural crops.
• If the field condition is suitable after rainfall, then start sowing of jute seeds.
