- A well distributed annual rainfall of 1000-1500 mm with bright sunlight is conducive for its growth.
- A temperature of 18-35°C with Relative Humidity more than 80% is the best for its growth.
- The crop cannot withstand water logging at seedling stage.
- At high temperature ( 320C) the crop height as well as basal diameter increases.
